The island

39°34′N   2°39′E

Mallorca rewards those who explore it by sea. To the north-west, the
Serra de Tramuntana drops sheer into the water; to the south and east,
the coast opens into sheltered coves; and a few miles off Cap de ses
Salines lies the Cabrera archipelago.

Every yacht in our collection has a home marina, but the ideal departure
point depends on the yacht, the forecast and your route. That is why an
advisor confirms embarkation, inclusions and the final quote before
anything is booked.

How to charter

Three ways to experience the island

I

Half day

4 hours

The Bay of Palma, a swim in calm water and back to port for sunset. Ideal for a first time aboard.

II

Full day

8 hours

One stretch of coast, explored properly: south-west towards Sa Dragonera or the southern coves, with lunch at anchor.

III

A week aboard

3 to 7 nights

Nights in different anchorages and a captain who picks the most sheltered side of the island as the wind shifts.

Cruising grounds

Where a Mallorca yacht charter takes you

Palma Cathedral seen from the sea
01

Palma and the bay

The Port of Palma sits beside the Old Town and its cathedral, and almost every day in the bay begins with it in sight. Calm mornings are made for swimming in the sheltered corners before lunch at anchor.

Sa Dragonera island seen from Sant Elm
02

Sa Dragonera and the south-west

A natural park since 1995, Sa Dragonera is separated from Sant Elm by a narrow channel. These waters are a regulated buoy field, so yachts moor to buoys instead of dropping anchor.

Crystal-clear water in the Cabrera archipelago
03

Cabrera National Park

An archipelago of islets south of Cap de ses Salines, protected as a maritime-terrestrial national park. Sailing there requires a navigation permit, and staying overnight needs a second one for the park’s buoys. We arrange both.

Serra de Tramuntana cliffs above the sea
04

The Tramuntana coast

A UNESCO World Heritage landscape of cliffs, terraces and dry-stone villages. Port de Sóller is the main harbour on this stretch, the most exposed side of the island, so the captain chooses it by the forecast.

Suggested itinerary

A week around Mallorca

A reference route. The final order is set by the captain, according to each day’s wind.

Tailor this route

  1. Day 1

    Palma → Portals Vells

Embarkation, a welcome drink and the first night in a pine-fringed cove a few miles from port.

  2. Day 2

    Sa Dragonera

A morning of snorkelling and a buoy mooring off Sant Elm. Dinner ashore overlooking the island.

  3. Day 3

    Sa Calobra · Tramuntana

The wildest coastline on the island. Torrent de Pareis and a night in Port de Sóller.

  4. Day 4

    Bay of Pollença

Calm water, a tender ride ashore and an afternoon with the water toys.

  5. Day 5

    Eastern coves

Cala Mitjana, Cala Varques and turquoise anchorages between low cliffs.

  6. Day 6

    Cabrera

A night inside the national park, buoy permit included. Not a single light on the horizon.

  7. Day 7

    Es Trenc → Palma

A last swim off the south’s longest beach and an afternoon return to port.

Plan with confidence

Mallorca charter guide

Seagrass and anchoring

Balearic regulations forbid anchoring on Posidonia seagrass meadows. Captains look for sandy patches and authorised buoy fields, which sometimes decides which cove we stop in.

Departure marina

Each yacht has a home marina, but many can depart from elsewhere on the island. Any repositioning is confirmed and quoted in advance.

What the rate includes

Fuel, food and drinks, marina fees and crew gratuity are handled differently on each yacht. Your advisor sets everything out in writing before you confirm.

Best time to go

The season runs from May to October. July and August are the busiest months; June and September bring warm water and quieter coves.

FAQ

What guests ask before setting sail

How much does a luxury yacht charter in Mallorca cost?

It depends on the yacht, dates, duration and route. “From” rates are indicative; your advisor confirms the final quote and its inclusions before you book.

Where do the yachts depart from?

Most are based in Palma’s marinas or on the south-west coast, such as Puerto Portals and Port Adriano; others depart from Port de Sóller. The meeting point is confirmed for your date.

Can yachts anchor anywhere?

No. Anchoring on Posidonia seagrass is prohibited, and in regulated areas, such as between Sa Dragonera and Sant Elm, yachts must use the authorised buoys.

Do I need a permit to visit Cabrera?

Yes: one to navigate within the park and another to use its buoys if you stay overnight. Both are requested in advance, and we handle the paperwork.

Is a single day or a full week better?

A full day covers one stretch of coast. Several days add nights at anchor and let you always pick the sheltered side of the island.
